Bones of Goliath unveil their new lineup with “Down The Steps,” a live video captured at The Rex Theater in Morenci, Michigan, while opening for Green Jelly. The performance introduces vocalist Aaron Dilorenzo and finds Gerald “Foam” Ammons moving from bass to lead guitar alongside drummer Hayden Alesch.
Written by Dilorenzo, “Down The Steps” draws its inspiration from an unexpected relationship: his connection with Lacey, an early bandmate’s temperamental Rottweiler. Kept in a kennel at the bottom of the stairs in their practice space when guests were present, Lacey became the subject of a song built around a conversation between singer and dog, and their shared understanding of isolation.
Bringing the song into Bones of Goliath gave the band a chance to introduce Dilorenzo’s songwriting while shaping an older composition with their own instincts. Its gradual build and thunderous feel reflects the drive and intensity that remain central to the group.
“We wanted to showcase some of his personal talent as a new member of BOG, but as we worked through it together, it definitely took on the vibe and feel of the band,” they explain. The band has evolved, the songs are evolving, but the rock spirit and groove clearly remain!

Following “Face The Flames” and “Blade, Fang, Blood and Claw,” the new video documents a band finding fresh possibilities within its established sound.
“The general sound has become more distinctive, allowing us to approach songwriting in a new way,” the band says. “It has opened up a lot of things we as a group can experiment with.”
It’s evident to us that these guys are lifers and keepers of the rock torch! If you’re new to Bones of Goliath, this is an excellent time to dive on the train!
